    Happy Tu B'Shvat and snow...

Tu Bishvat, the holiday of trees, will be next Monday and this year comes with a forecast of snow in our area!

The last two years we were able to complete all of our tasks and deliver to all locations, although with frozen fingers, shuffling through the snow and mud and with reasonable damages in the garden.

    Hi Friends,
There is a saying I believe in psalms that states that "....a tree growing on water will give fruit at it's time and its leaves will not wilt, and anything it does will succeed..." or something like that.

    Hi friends,
On Tu B'shvat last year I wrote to you about green garlic. This year, there has not been enough rain and so the garlic has not developed sufficiently to harvest ... sad.
In our region we have had only about 40% of the average rainfall for the period. Last year when I wrote to you on Tu B'shvat, we had about 52% of the average rainfall for the same period, and it too was not a good year for rain. South of us the situation is worse. In the north the situation is better and fresh water falling from the sky reached about 70-80% of the period average.

    Hi
This week we have a new addition - seasonal and delightful, the green garlic.
Maybe I'll write more about it next week, but just a short word or two - this garlic looks like a green onion because it is young and has not yet developed a "head". We eat it whole! It is more delicate than the mature garlic cloves and the green part is wonderful fresh in sandwiches or salads. Enjoy!
Another week passed and the growth in the garden is lovely. The soil is saturated and the sun is shining.
