Last week of holiday chaos. Sorry for the late email.
Important:
Tomorrow we will be distributing to friends in the following areas: Rehovot, Nataf, Jerusalem (who are used to receiving on Thursdays), Modi'in up till Gush Dan ( not including Tel Aviv).
You must make your orders by 12:00 today.
More about the Shmitta Year:
From inquiries with Rav Avrahan of Machon Tora Wearetz, we learned:
The agricultural produce of the following moshavim is
regarded as "lemehandrin heter mechira" or otherwise named
the same kasruth as that of the produce sold under the
name "Otsar Haaretz". The reason is that these moshavim are
in an area which did not belong to Eretz Jisrael according to certain interpretations.
Here is a list of the moshavim from this area that we work with:
Chataswa
Ein Jahav
Lotan
Neot semadar
Samar
Tlamei elijahu
Nachal oz
Nirim
Also there is a list of produce, grown before Rosh Hashana that is permitted till certain dates. With fruit it is even longer…
You can find these lists by searching Google for:
לוח קדושת שביעית וספיחין בירקות
לוח קדושת שביעית וביעור בפירות האילן
You are also welcome to speak directly to our Mashgich Ofir Federman at 052-8384832
I can put a note on your orders, saying I must go over everything before sending it to you, so I can make sure the produce you ordered comes from the permitted Moshavim on the list. If it doesn't, I will not send it to you.
If you are interested in me doing so, please instruct us..
I hope this information can be of help and that we can continue to provide you with fresh organic produce as well as respect the Shnat Shmitta.
Lavrioot!
Yours,
Maggie
