Red vs. Green grapes. I had to write it this way – the World Cup is happening now…)
Organic grapes are associated with so many pleasant things… they symbolize fertility, they are delicious, and they contain substances that are good for health, to say the least. To be precise, they are extremely healthy for you. Grapes contain more than 1,600 different antioxidant compounds that help keep our hearts and arteries healthy, our eyes healthy and without cataracts, that expel cancer from the body, and also slow down the aging processes. Some of these anti-oxidants are found in the grape peel, such as Resveratrol, which is responsible for heart related issues (not in the romantic sense): it works in various and diverse ways to reduce bad cholesterol, reduce the likelihood of blood clots, and prevent sclerosis and other conditions that arise from diseased arteries. In addition to their health benefits, they also have great nutritional benefits – grapes contain B vitamins, vitamin C, nutritional fiber that is important to "move matters" in the digestive system, and all this with less than 60 calories per glass of sweet and tasty grapes,.
From grapes we produce wine that makes the heart happy, Tirosh (grape juice) that makes children’s mouths happy and also the mouths of those who less prefer wine, and a bowl of cool, sweet grapes on a hot day is especially joyful . By the way, the nutritional value of grapes is maximal when eaten at their peak – ripe, fresh, with the peel and seeds. However, organic raisins and wine also have plenty of good materials.
I love to see grape vineyards, with crispy bunches of plump grapes dangling between the branches. The person who wrote "Your wife as a fruitful vine" certainly scored in terms of expression in my opinion. Gently touching a grape cluster on the vine brings with it a gust of fresh breeze, sweet juice and abundance, so much abundance. Also, looking at a grape vine throughout the seasons brings with it insights into the sense of nature cycles around us: in the winter the branches stand bald and naked, withering and leafless, shrinking against the winter landscape, dozing, huddled and waiting for their time. In the spring, when we all lift up a freckled nose towards the sun and greet it with the blessing "Welcome, we’re glad to have you here", the vine bushes burst out with their first leaves – sprouting in bright green, peeping out and checking – is it time already? In the summer, when the sun is highest and the earth emits heat (and we long for the beach), the vines take all their abundance and present it to the world, sharing with us the best they can offer. As for autumn, the abundance ceases and everything returns to curl, to shrink, to revert inwards, to relax from the festivity and great celebration of the summer. Time to gather and prepare for the blessed sleep…
So what caused me to write all of this poetry about grapes? The amazing green grapes of Golan from Be’er Milka are ready! They call them "grapes of the past" and they completely justify the name: they are amazingly sweet and crackling in the mouth with a precise timing and taste that makes us feel as if we are the children running around barefoot and playing hide and seek among the rows of vines that hide us from all sides, and only by the laughter can one guess our hiding place…
Come and get them now while they are here.
To health!
Yours,
