organic Shavuot

Do you yearn for a loquat? Do you have cheshek for a shesek? You must hurry.

שסק אורגני, סלי פירות אורגניים, שתילי פירות אורגניים, אורגני

The season of this wonderful and excellent fruit is short, and soon it will be gone.

We love loquats for several reasons … First of all, how can you not love it as it is the first fruit of the summer and it is just juicy and refreshing after all the sour tasting winter fruits…

First I am reminding you the changes in deliveries to you next week.  It is important so scroll down a bit.  Some of you must order now!

The second reason is that it is most common in gardens and courtyards of Israel and it's just a pleasure to see a beautiful, evergreen tree, with colorful fruit that you can just pick and eat without any preparation.

Always, when something is so tasty, of course, is also has many health benefits  There is a reason why our body likes it.

Loquats contain a phytochemical called carotenoid, which is converted by the body to vitamin A and which contributes significantly in maintaining facial skin and protecting against sun damage. It is good for strengthening the immune system, it helps maintain normal blood pressure, helps slow the aging process, protects us from several cancers due to its strong antioxidant components and is an excellent source of potassium.

Happy Shavuot!

ירקות אורגניים, שתילי פירות אורגניים, אורגני

What an exciting holiday! The farmers Holiday! It makes so much sense to celebrate nature and the earth

There is a lot to write about Shavuot and I've written about it here before

So here's something new I've heard about Shavuot.

Rabbi Akiva said: " נאמר הביאו עומר בפסח שתתברך לכם התבואה, והביאו ביכורים בעצרת כדי שיתברכו לכם פירות האילן." Which is loosely translated as “Bring the Omer on Pesach to bless you with the grain, and bring the first fruits at the assembly so that the fruit of the tree will be blessed”.

Farmers bring their first fruits as a tribute for the abundance of tree-fruits for the entire people of Israel, particularly when the fruits are of the Seven Species. Thus, the farmer shares his joy with everyone. Accordingly, the blessing of abundance of fruits of the tree is not only for the farmer and his personal business, but the fruit blessing is connected to the whole community.

So happy holiday and may we jointly have a season full of juicy fruit!

Also, exactly on this subject,

We wish to host and facilitate in our new place all kinds of good things related to health, community, environment, etc. We would be very happy if you would pass it on and let us know of any ideas and requests for cooperation that you know about. (I’m already looking for a person who knows how to cook in a healthful way 🙂

We are planning a Farmers Market on June 16th.and we invite you to come and participate if you produce or grow something 🙂

In July we will host Uri Meir Chizik, who wrote. "What is this doing on my plate?" We will send you an organized message about this event very soon.

And of course we invite you to our new organic shop and juice bar!

Have a great weekend and happy holiday,

To health!

Yours,

Maggie and the garden team
